Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aylin Åžendemir

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aylin Åžendemir, received her BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, and MS degree in Biomedical Engineering from BoÄŸaziçi University, and her PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. Her research interests include interactions of mammalian cells with biomaterials, tissue engineering, mechanobiology, and biocompatibility testing. She is particularly interested in design and production of in vitro tissue engineered 3D personalized disease models for pharmaceutical screening and minimizing animal testing.
Dr. Souheil ElHakim

Dr. Souheil ElHakim is a medical technology leader (PhD, McGill) specializing in neurosurgical, cardiovascular, and ultrasound technologies. With 4 patents, he has served as CEO of Bıçakçılar Medical Devices, founded STRATIS Group, and led Medtronic's restorative therapies division for hospital solutions. An award-winning innovator, he participated in the development of the first 3D freehand ultrasound system and enhances global healthcare through technical commercialization.
Prof. Evren Homan Gökçe

Prof. Dr. Evren Homan Gökçe has graduated from Ege University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1998. She completed her doctorate in 2007 from the same university. She conducted a part of her doctoral studies in Pavia University Faculty of Pharmacy in Italy. In 2012, she participated a project in Paris Sud-11- University Faculty of Pharmacy, France as a post-doc researcher. Her interests include nano and microparticle delivery for topical applications, especially to the skin and eye. She has 4 patents and she has won Novartis Pharmaceutical Technology Project Support Award; Young Scientist Award in Bled International Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences, Slovenia; US State GIST BOOTCAMP Turkey, Entrepreneurship Program. She is also one of the co-founders of the start up company named Dermis Pharma Health and Cosmetic Products Inc and she is a consultant for Ministry of Health.
Prof. Rana Sanyal

Prof. Rana Sanyal received her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Boston University. Prof. Sanyal started her career as a research scientist at Amgen Inc., California. Since 2004, she has been a faculty member at the Department of Chemistry at Bogazici University, Istanbul. Her current research interests focus on targeted therapy technologies. Her academic spin-off RS Research, is a clinical stage biotechnology start-up discovering and developing smart nanomedicines for targeted chemotherapy. Prof. Rana Sanyal was awarded the European Prize for Women Innovators in 2024 by European Innovation Council and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. Prof. Sanyal has been named one of the three Cartier Women’s Initiative 2021 Global Science and Technology Pioneer Award fellows.
Prof. Özge Andıç Çakır

Prof. Dr. Özge Andıç Çakır, holds a PhD in Construction Materials and is a professor at Ege University. She also serves as the CEO of EDUJÄ°, a company focused on innovation and development and she is the Head of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Ege University. Additionally, she is a board member at Ä°ZÄ°KAD, supporting women in business and entrepreneurship.
